A Task Force on Child Abuse in ISKCON was created by the GBC in 1997. As a result of the recommendations of that Task Force, the ISKCON Central Office of Child Protection was established, which is incorporated as The Association for the Protection of Children.

Tamohara das joined ISKCON in 1972 and is a disciple of Srila Prabhupada. He has served as Director of the ISKCON Central Office of Child Protection since June 2004. He travels extensively training devotees in child protection, conducting seminars in the United States, Canada, Europe and India.
He holds a doctoral degree in Educational Psychology and has been an administrator and faculty member of graduate schools of professional psychology for more than 10 years, including associate professor of clinical psychology and counseling at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Additionally, Tamohara das has had years of experience in individual, group, and marital counseling. He is a member of the SSPT Counseling Initiative, Co-Director of the North American Youth Initiatives, member of the Grhasta Vision Team, member of the ISKCON Task Force on the Abuse of Women, is a PREP Marriage Education facilitator, is a trained "Good Touch, Bad Touch" sexual abuse prevention educator, and has led seminars in communication skills and relationship skills trainings.
Other services and activities include Chair of the New Vrndavana GBC Board, Alachua Temple Board of Directors, Alachua Charter School Board of Directors. He and his wife, Mantrini dasi, currently reside in the New Raman Reti community in Alachua, Florida, along with two married daughters and two grandchildren.

Mantrini devi dasi joined ISKCON in 1972 and is a disciple of Srila Prabhupada. She holds a degree in Family and Child Studies and has had experience in individual, group, and marital counseling. She is also a member of the Grhasta Vision Team, a former Board Member of Children of Krishna, Inc., and is trained to be a PREP Marriage Education facilitator and a "Good Touch, Bad Touch" sexual abuse prevention educator. |
